Since January 1, 2025, applications to the Youth + Democracy Fund must be submitted to the "Democracy Foundation Basel".
The ‘Youth + Democracy’ fund focuses on promoting democracy education, a culture of democratic debate, and support for young initiatives in the area of democracy promotion.
- The Swiss Democracy Foundation launched the fund in 2021 to promote the political education and participation of young people under the age of 30.
- The Youth + Democracy Fund will be managed by the Democracy Foundation Basel from 1 January 2025. In addition to Andreas Zivy, who has taken over the chairmanship, the foundation board members are Dr. Rebekka Utzinger Ermini and Dr. Benedikt Suter.

FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
The fund is intended to support organisations and projects that are primarily run by young people and young people up to the age of 30. The projects must fulfil the objectives and criteria of the fund.
The objectives and criteria for possible support are the promotion of democracy, the participation of youth and young people in public life and politics, the commitment to an open-minded and liberal society and to a policy that counteracts polarisation and works towards broad-based socio-political compromises.
Applications for contributions from the Youth + Democracy Fund must be submitted to the Basel Democracy Foundation from 1 January 2025.
